According to DOD: DRS Technical Services, Inc., Herndon, Va., wasawarded a $12,100,000 firm-fixed-price contract Feb. 14, 2011. Theaward will provide for 10,000 VHF handheld radios, 10,000 VHFhandheld radio accessories, 5,000 VHF mobile radios and 5,000 VHFmobile radio accessories. Work will be performed in Afghanistan,with an estimated completion date of April 21, 2011. The bid wassolicited through the Internet with 21 bids received. The KabulRegional Contracting Center, Cole House Contracting, Kabul,Afghanistan, is the contracting activity (W91B4M-11-C-4018).
