Council visit controversial planning site.

COUNCILLORS are to make a site visit before deciding if a hugely controversial housing development planned for land near the centre of Beverley can go ahead.

As reported in the Beverley Guardian, the plans to build 10 apartments and 15 detached or semi-detached houses and bungalows following the demolition of the Beehive pub in Keldgate have sparked fierce opposition from nearby residents. Beverley Town Council has also objected to the development, part of which would be on a greenfield site to the rear of the pub.
