Classical Public Radio Network Chooses Neural-THX(R) Surround Technologies.

Full Surround Broadcast to More Than a Million Listeners

KIRKLAND, Wash., April 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Neural Audio Corporation, the market leader in developing advanced audio and surround sound technologies, announced today that Classical Public Radio Network (CPRN), with more than one million discerning music listeners, has begun nationwide broadcast and global Internet streaming of 5.1 Neural-THX(R) Surround encoded classical recordings through its 60-station network.

Neural Audio and THX recently unveiled their partnership at CES 2007 to provide broadcasters and consumers with the most advanced surround technology and listening experience possible.

In cooperation with Neural Audio, the Classical Public Radio Network's extensive classical library has now been enhanced with more than 3,000 Neural- THX Surround encoded works by some of the greatest classical artists and ensembles. With the help of broadcasters and music labels, Neural Audio is now able to provide a library of more than 16,000 surround tracks in all musical genres.

"For our listeners, everything is about the music," said Steve Coghill, CPRN's director of operations and program planning. "These are some of the best recorded performances, and the added dimension of surround sound makes it leap out of the radio. At a time when listeners have so many choices, Neural- THX Surround is an enhancement that gives radio a real edge."

"The addition of original surround content for our listeners is significant in that it provides an audiophile classical experience to all of our listeners both on FM, HD Radio and the Internet," said Jim Paluzzi, Colorado Public Radio's vice president for new media and technology. "'Surround for all' is the best way to describe the ability of Neural Surround-THX(R) Surround content to easily integrate into our network."

"CPRN has a history of integrating technologies that represent a significant advancement in delivering compelling content to their listener base", said Mark Seigle, Neural Audio COO and president. "Neural is pleased to work with CPRN to achieve its mission to enhance the classical music experience for public radio listeners."

CPRN'S flagship stations, KUSC, Los Angeles and KVOD, Denver are two of the nation's largest classical public stations. Other stations in the network include: WBHM-FM, Birmingham, Ala.; WFSQ-FM, Tallahassee, Fla.; Boise State Radio, Boise, Idaho; KBYI-FM, Rexburg, Idaho; WNIU-FM, DeKalb, Ill.; Northeast Indiana Public Radio, Fort Wayne, Ind.; High Plains Public Radio, Garden City, Kan.; WOSU-FM, Columbus, Ohio; South Dakota Public Broadcasting, Vermillion, S.D.; Northwest Public Radio, Pullman, Wash.; Vermont Public Radio, Colchester, Vt.; Public Radio Tulsa, Tulsa, Okla.; WSHU-FM, Fairfield, Conn.; Public Radio East, New Bern, N.C.; WFCR-FM, Amherst, Mass.; WJCT-FM, Jacksonville, Fla.; WQED-FM, Pittsburgh, Pa.; KLRE-FM, Little Rock, Ark.; and Wisconsin Public Radio, Madison, WI. CPRN programming is also offered by NPR (National Public Radio) for member stations across the country.

Neural Audio is the leader in surround sound broadcast technology with: the first 5.1 radio broadcast on Colorado Public Radio; the first HD Radio 5.1 broadcast; the first nationwide 5.1 broadcast by NPR, the first live radio, 5.1 concert broadcast featuring the Colorado Symphony Orchestra and legendary jazz artist, Dianne Reeves; and most recently, the first radio station in the United States, WGUC-FM, Cincinnati, Ohio, to fully integrate Neural-THX Surround content into their daily play lists.

About Classical Public Radio Network

The Classical Public Radio Network (CPRN) is a national, 24-hour classical music format. Its mission is to preserve, enhance and expand the experience of classical music for radio listeners. With that vision, CPRN was established in 1998 as a limited-liability non-profit company -- a joint venture of KUSC, Los Angeles, and Colorado Public Radio -- with startup funding from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. In 2003, CPRN and National Public Radio (NPR) joined in a collaborative marketing arrangement to further expand the network, which currently comprises 60 stations serving over one million listeners.
